The first section would tell you how to use this tutorial.

The second section would teach you how to build a simple document using the HTML. It tells you how to change the text's style and font, seperate different paragraph, do the indenting, and make heading and title.

Then, the third section would teach you how to show some special symbol. In HTML, "<",">", and "&" are reserved for formatting the HTML document. Therefore, there are some methods to show this type of symbol. Besides, if you want to show special characters like ©, ® and Æ, you can find the answer in this site. The whole list of these special character is at Appendix B at this site. In addition, this section also tell you how to make a shadow line on your document.

The last section would teach you how to make the hypertext links. If you to show graphics, video, and sound, you need to link your document to graphics, video and sound files. In this section, the auction, the author would tell you how to do this. Besides, the links between different HTML through-out the world would also be taught in here.

If you want more information about how to write the HTML document. You can look up the appendix here.

The Electric Postcard

The other site is a postcard store, which is located at http://persona.www.media.mit.edu/Postcards/. This is designed and maintained by Judith Donath in the MIT Media Lab. In this site, you can post an electronic postcard to your friends. To post a electronic postcard, you need to have your own email address, also you should know the email-addresses of your friends.

How do you post the electronic postcard? First, you should go to this web site. Then, you should select the keyword "Postcard Rack" to send the card. Then, a number of titles of postcards are showed for you to select. After you have selected the postcard, you can write what you want to say to your friend. Then, it is ready to send. Besides, you can preview your postcard before you send it. If you succeed in sending the postcard, the site will generate a email to the receiver to tell him/her to get the postcard.

This web site provides an alternative for you to send message to your friends instead of email. However, the privacy of sending the electonic postcard is not as good as the electronic mail. Nevertheless, this would a great surprise to your friends.
