Given that the locus of parametric variation resides in functional categories, and considerable diversity is observed in the realization of functional categories in typologically distinct languages, this workshop seeks to explore the properties of functional categories in Asian languages from the perspective of language acquisition, and to enhance understanding of the ontogenetic development of these categories.
