The Faculty of Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong has been hosting the “Ye Jiaying Visiting Professorship” Lectures since 2020. Renowned scholars in the field of Chinese literature have been invited to deliver lectures on campus.
This year, we are honoured to welcome Professor Grace S. Fong, Professor Emerita of Chinese Literature from the Department of East Asian Studies at McGill University as our guest speaker.
About the Speaker:
Grace Fong is Professor Emerita of Chinese Literature in the Department of East Asian Studies, McGill University. She received her PhD in classical Chinese poetry from the University of British Columbia. Her research encompasses classical Chinese poetry and poetics, women writers of late imperial China, and auto/biographical writing in premodern China. She was Project Director of the Ming Qing Women’s Writings Digital Archive and Database. Her representative works include Wu Wenying and the Art of Southern Song Ci Poetry; Herself an Author: Gender, Agency, and Writing in Late Imperial China; Representing Lives in China: Forms of Biography in the Ming-Qing Period (co-editor).
