The Faculty of Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) extends its warmest congratulations to the Department of Music on its 60th anniversary. To mark this important milestone, the Department of Music, in collaboration with the Art Museum, presented a series of three concerts, entitled “Diamond Muses – Music Department x Art Museum Concert” from October to December 2025. The concert series brought together members of the University and the wider community to reflect on and celebrate the Department’s six decades of growth and achievement.
The series featured inspiring performances by four distinguished alumni of the Department of Music: Cheng Yan-ho (Cello / BA in Music, 2015), Linus Fung (Clarinet / BA in Music, 2014), Yeung Wai‑kit (Xiao and Dizi / BA in Music, 2003), and Pang Hong‑tai (Sheng / MA in Music, 2011). Showcasing both Western and Chinese instruments through solo and ensemble works, all three concerts were presented to full houses and warmly received by audiences.
Since its establishment, the Department of Music has upheld a strong commitment to excellence in both scholarship and artistic practice, nurturing generations of outstanding musicians and making significant and lasting contributions to the development of music locally and internationally.
The Faculty will continue to support the advancement of the humanities, promote high‑quality humanities education, and cultivate creative professionals with global perspectives and strong professional expertise.
