The Faculty of Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong successfully held the Dean’s List Presentation Ceremony 2024–2025 on 28 March 2026 (Saturday). The event brought together over 400 participants, including Dean’s List recipients, their families and friends, and department representatives, to celebrate students’ dedication and achievements.
The ceremony opened with a flute and cello trio performance by Antal Lau, Shanna So and Siobhan Chan, all Year 3 students from the Department of Music.
Professor Max Xiaobing Tang, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, delivered welcoming remarks, extended his heartfelt congratulations to all undergraduate and postgraduate recipients, and expressed sincere appreciation to all guests for attending the ceremony. He encouraged students to make good use of the wide range of opportunities offered by the University and the Faculty, highlighting in particular the upcoming Interdisciplinary Taught Postgraduate Student Conference in April and a new exchange initiative with Zhejiang University to be launched in the next academic year. He invited students to participate actively to broaden their horizons, build personal and professional networks, and further develop their strengths.
Two student representatives also shared their learning experiences at the Faculty. Mr Lam Chun, Colin, a 2024 graduate of the MA in Japanese Studies, spoke about the strong academic support and overseas exchange opportunities offered that enabled him to connect classroom learning with real‑life cultural experiences. Ms Chan Yuk Hei, a Year 4 student from the Department of History, highlighted the importance of humanities education in an era of rapid technological change, as it helps us move beyond information overload and engage with the world with humility and curiosity. Both speakers emphasised the value of curiosity as a foundation for lifelong learning and meaningful contributions to society.
The Faculty once again extends its warmest congratulations to all recipients and sincere thanks to everyone who attended the ceremony. We remain committed to fostering a vibrant scholarly environment for continued excellence.
