On 30 April 2026, the Faculty of Arts at CUHK successfully concluded the 2nd Interdisciplinary Taught Postgraduate Student Conference on Arts and Humanities, themed “Voices of Humanity: Interdisciplinary Dialogues in the Present Era.” Professor Max Tang, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Professor Benny Lim, Director of the MA in Cultural Management Programme, attended the opening ceremony and warmly welcomed all participants. The conference attracted strong participation from taught postgraduate students and faculty members, providing a dynamic platform for academic exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue.
A total of 42 oral presentations and 14 posters were received, highlighting the breadth and depth of research across the arts and humanities. Presentations were organised into thematic sessions exploring Buddhist reflections; education, art, and spiritual practice; power, identities, and digital worlds; cross‑media cultural mediation; texts, selves, and ethics; gender, desire, and cultural representation; narrating memory and historical experience; interpreting human embodiment and moral frameworks; and public rituals, institutions, and social order. Separate poster sessions showcased additional research across a wide range of areas.
Students shared diverse perspectives on contemporary human experiences and engaged in thoughtful discussions that crossed disciplinary boundaries. In addition to scholarly exchange, the conference facilitated meaningful peer networking. Interactions during breaks and the conference dinner fostered connections among students and faculty members, contributing to a supportive academic community.
The Faculty looks forward to building on this momentum to further enhance interdisciplinary engagement and collaboration among taught postgraduate students.
