The year is 1999. You, an anthropologist from Hong Kong, meet your informants, Filipino women who work as entertainers in camp town clubs serving US soldiers in South Korea. You gradually get to understand their life stories while also encountering various delicate situations in research work and interpersonal relationships. The newly published board game In the Field: Moving Love is based on ethnographic field research. In the game, as the story unfolds, players contemplate the entanglement of migration, labor, intimate relationship, aspiration and anti-trafficking activism, while considering their moves in methodological and ethical dilemmas in the role of an anthropologist.
