1. To assist the Dean of the Faculty in the performance of his/her duties;
2. To initiate plans for Faculty development;
3. To assist the Dean of the Faculty in managing the budget, finances and space of the Faculty; and
4. To deal with any matter referred to it by the Vice-Chancellor or his designate, AAPC or the Faculty Board.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.

1. To review relevant academic personnel matters, including appointment, contract renewal, substantiation/ conversion to continuous appointment, pay review, advancement, crossing of pay bands, retirement/ extension of service, and make recommendations thereon for consideration by the appropriate authority.
2. To advise the Vice-Chancellor and/ or his designate on any other matters related thereto as may be referred by them from time to time.

Note
For units without a two-tier structure (e.g. Faculty of Law), the composition will be decided by the Vice-Chancellor having regard to the size of the unit concerned. In special circumstances, the Vice-Chancellor may also appoint an FAPC with a different composition.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.

1. To review the Taught Postgraduate programmes of the Faculty, including the formation of review panels for individual programmes and consideration of the review reports, action plans, etc;
2. To oversee the design of Faculty Package courses and to ensure the smooth running of the courses under the new 4-year curriculum;
3. To coordinate the bidding of funds for the enhancement of teaching and learning; and
4. To organize activities for the enhancement of teaching and learning within the Faculty.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.

1. To look into research policy issues and make appropriate recommendations;
2. To create conditions to stimulate quality research;
3. To set up and maintain the mechanisms for research project selection and funding;
4. To set up and maintain the mechanisms for monitoring the quality of research projects;
5. To compile an annual report on research projects at the University;
6. To compile an annual report on research projects supported by UGC funds for submission to AAPC and the University Senate and then to the UGC;
7. To foster the development of multi-disciplinary research endeavours across faculties, schools and developments; and
8. To consider other research related matters as directed by the Vice-Chancellor.

The Panel will serve from 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2022.

1. To devise publicity strategies for raising the profile of the Faculty and enhancing its image within the University, in the secondary school sector, in the Hong Kong community at large and in the global academic arena;
2. To plan, co-ordinate and implement publicity programmes of the Faculty, with particular attention to promoting admission of students to the Faculty; 
3. To initiate and participate in special university-wide or faculty-wide events as instructed by the Vice-Chancellor or Dean of the Faculty; and
4. To oversee the maintenance and development of the Faculty website and provide guidance to individual unit websites across the Faculty.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.

1. To coordinate with the Major programmes for the formulation of admission and selection criteria of the Major programmes of the Faculty;
2. To coordinate with the Major programmes for the devise and implementation of strategies for promoting undergraduate admissions;
3. To coordinate with the Major programmes for the recruitment and admission of undergraduate students (including both local and non-local students, early admission and upper-year entry);
4. To coordinate with the Major programmes for all other activities organized by the University that are related to the recruitment and admission of undergraduates, including outreach to schools and students, orientation activities, etc.; and
5. To coordinate with other committees, including Faculty Publicity and Outreach Committee, in their launching of promotional activities for the recruitment of undergraduate students.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.

1. To coordinate with the Major programmes for the formulation of selection criteria, and the nomination of candidates, for the scholarships that are designated to the Faculty; and
2. To set up interviewing panels for the selection of recipients for the scholarships that are designated to the Faculty.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.

1. To give advice on all aspects of academic advising, including recommendations on student waiver cases before putting the cases to the Faculty Board and the Senate APC for approval.
2. To convene committee meeting at least twice in each academic year.
3. The term of service for chairpersons and members is one year.
4. The composition and the terms of reference of the Committee are subject to the endorsement of the Faculty Board.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.

1. To consider and endorse recommendations of Departments’ / Programmes’ Examination Panels of the Faculty regarding graduation assessment results and honours classification;
2. To consider and approve recommendations from Departments’ / Programmes’ relating to students’ academic problems, e.g. students to be put on academic probation/ extended probation, discontinue studies in accordance with the relevant regulations governing students’ studies at the University, and graduation without declared minor, etc.
3. To consider and endorse the list of undergraduate students being put on the Dean’s List of the Faculty.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2021.

1. To review and regularize the procedures in handling academic disciplinary matters pertaining to undergraduate and postgraduate students taking courses offered by the Faculty of Arts.
2. To handle academic disciplinary matters pertaining to undergraduate and postgraduate students taking courses offered by the Faculty of Arts as reported by the teachers of Departments, Programme and Units in the Faculty.

The Committee will serve from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.
