Roundtable on Current Issues in Light Verb Syntax in Chinese opens at Room 220, Fung King Hey Building, The Chinese University of Hong Kong at 8:40 May 28.

The Roundtable consists of four speech sessions and a session of free discussion. Prof. Richard Larson from Stony Brook University and Prof. C. T. James Huang from Harvard University are keynote speakers on the Roundtable. Invited speakers are Prof. Shengli Feng (The Chinese University of Hong Kong), Prof. Yafei Li (University of Wisconsin – Madison), Prof. Dingxu Shi (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), Prof. Fuzhen Si (Beijing Language and Culture University), Prof. Sze Wing Tang (The Chinese University of Hong Kong), Prof. Wei-Tien Dylan Tsai(National Tsing Hua University), and Prof. Rongxiang Yang (Peking University) . Prof. Paul S. Law (The City University of Hong Kong), Prof. Yulai Pei (Xi`an International Studies University) and Prof. Huibin Zhuang (Henan University) act as session chairs of the Roundtable.

The Roundtable begins with Prof. Larson’s keynote speech via Skype, followed by the talks of other speakers. In the free discussion session, there is a lively and fruitful discussion about the current issues in Chinese light verb syntax.

The Roundtable has attracted more than fifty scholars from universities in Hong Kong, Beijing, Guangzhou, etc.
