The Research Centre for Chinese Philosophy and Culture (RCCPC) will organize an International Workshop “Revisiting Chinese Philosophy: From the Perspectives of Political Philosophy” on October 24–25 (Friday to Saturday), 2025. The exploration of Chinese philosophy’s intellectual resources from the political philosophy perspective has accumulated considerable achievements over the past decades. Research topics include the compatibility of Confucianism and democracy; whether traditional Chinese thought can incorporate modern concepts of freedom, human rights, and the rule of law; the debate between meritocracy and democracy, communitarianism, and liberalism; and the relationship between politics, morality, and culture. This workshop aims to bring together contemporary scholars to present cutting-edge research on these topics and engage in in-depth exchanges. Details of the Workshop are as follows:
