The Department has received generous support from many individuals and organizations. A number of scholarships have been set up to award undergraduate and postgraduate students for their excellence.
Based on performance in ideas, motif, and materials in the format of printmaking in the exhibition
1. Must have screened-in artworks on painting and 3D creations, regardless of the media, in the exhibition.
2. The screened-in artworks must have been selected for an award designated to a specific medium.
Based on good performance in Western Painting, 2D mixed media, or 3D mixed media in the exhibition
Based on good performance in Visual Arts in the exhibition
Based on good performance in Western painting in the exhibition.
Based on good performance in traditional Chinese art (Chinese painting and seal carving) in the exhibition.
The selected work should attain the highest degree of originality and craftsmanship.
Based on technique, concept, originality, potentially, and the degree in which the artwork reflects the elements of art.
Based on good performance in photography, moving images or any lens-based work
Based on outstanding performance in Chinese Painting or Chinese Calligraphy in the Exhibition
Based on outstanding performance in 3D Art Form (including but not limited to ceramic, sculpture and installation) in the Exhibition.
1) fluent in contemporary issues, and
2) outstanding technical competence
Based on good performance in mixed media / western or contemporary paintings in the Exhibition.
For female student with the best artistic performance in the Exhibition.
1.) Based on good performance in ceramics in Exhibition. The graduation project should utilize ceramics as the primary medium.
2.) Demonstrate continued excellence in academic performance.
Based on the originality and overall performance of the graduation works in the Exhibition
Based on performance in artwork and graduation theses in the MA Graduate Exhibition (Contemporary Art Stream)
1. Based on good performance in photography, moving images or any lens-based work in the MFA Graduate Exhibition/ MA Graduate Exhibition.
2. One recipient will be selected in each of the programmes.

Based on good performance in Chinese Painting, Calligraphy or Seal Carving in the MA Graduate Exhibition

Based on the originality and overall performance of the graduation works in the MA Graduate Exhibition
Based on academic performance in Drawing course.
Based on academic performance in Printmaking course.
Based on academic results, financial need and conduct.
Based on academic performance of student in the Art History stream.
1. Based on artistic merit in Chinese painting and calligraphy.
2. Students will be awarded the opportunity to study in the Beijing Fine Arts Academy in summer.
Based on academic performance in Chinese painting and calligraphy (practical) courses.
Based on academic results of art history courses. Consideration will also be given to research potential and leadership ability.
Based on academic performance in major courses for the whole academic year.
Based on financial need, the award is granted to undergraduate students expected to graduate in the next academic year

1. Candidates shall be full-time or part-time MA students who completed their study within the normative period of study.
2. Graduates obtained the highest CGPA of the graduation year shall be nominated.
3. If there are more than two candidates:
- Recommendations from an academic staff of the Department shall be sought.
- Candidates’ written works (e.g. assignments and papers) shall be reviewed.
1. Candidates shall be full-time or part-time MA students;
2. Nominations may be made by academic staff of the Department or by the Department General Office.
