All recipients expressed sincere gratitude for the encouragement and recognition provided by the Zhilan Scholarship, reaffirming their commitment to furthering research in Chinese culture.
Kwok Wang Chiu, an avid creator of classical poetry, will continue his exploration of Chinese versification and medieval Chinese literature. Du Xinzi is passionate about delving into the profound topics on Chinese culture.
Yang Yunfei’s research re-examines historical figures of the Southern Song dynasty. He hopes to further cultivate the construction of Chinese cultural memory through diverse perspectives. Lei Yusheng’s work integrates Sound Studies and sensory ethnography to investigate heritage, urban historiography, and multi-layered memory practices in contemporary China.
The Faculty of Arts remains committed to fostering an inspiring environment for humanities education. Through various initiatives, including scholarships and overseas exchange programmes, we encourage students to pursue impactful and original academic research, supporting their journey towards excellence.
