Professor Ho shared, “I am deeply honoured to receive the ‘2024/25 Outstanding Research Impact Award,’ which recognises my research efforts over the years. Since joining the Institute of Chinese Studies at CUHK in 1989, I have been engaged in the development of computerised databases of ancient Chinese texts for over 36 years. Today, the ‘CHANT (CHinese ANcient Texts)’ has become an academic platform subscribed by nearly a hundred universities worldwide; long-term subscribers include Harvard, Yale, Cambridge, Oxford, Sorbonne Université, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Peking University, and Tsinghua University. This platform enables our ancient culture to be explored and studied in depth using modern technology. The integration of Chinese and Western cultures and the promotion of Chinese studies are the greatest joys my research has brought me.”
