Executive Officer II (carrying the job title of ‘Project Manager’)  (200000NX)

The appointee will be engaged in an external-funded research and educational project on traditional handicrafts (woodwork and ceramics), and will be responsible for (a) overseeing the development and execution of the project under the supervision of the Project Director; (b) managing the overall financial operation of the project; (c) preparing quarterly report to be submitted to the funding body; (d) leading a project team to organise lectures, workshops, craft fairs and other educational activities; (e) co-ordinating with project collaborators and various stakeholders; and (f) performing other tasks as assigned by the Project Director. Irregular working hours may be required. 

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a higher degree; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 10 years’ post-qualification work experience; (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (v) a strong sense of responsibility and service-oriented mind-set; (vi) strong organisational, presentation and interpersonal skills; and (vii) the ability to work independently and as a team leader. Past working relationship with NGOs and/or experience in managing public-funded projects will be advantageous.

Project Co-ordinator II – (200000O0)

The appointee will be engaged in an external-funded research and educational project on traditional handicrafts (woodwork AND ceramics), and be responsible for (a) organising outreach workshops and other educational activities; (b) administering project website and other social media; (c) establishing and maintaining networks with secondary schools, workshop tutors, the media and other stakeholders; and (d) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisors. Irregular working hours may be required. 

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 3 years’ work experience; (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (iv) experience in managing social media; (v) a service-oriented mind-set and an outgoing personality; (vi) strong organisational, presentation and interpersonal skills; and (vii) the ability to work independently and as a team member. Experience in art/craft and/or book-keeping will be advantageous.

Full-time/Part-time Technician – (200000NZ)

The appointee will be engaged in an external-funded research and educational project on traditional handicrafts (woodwork and ceramics), and will be responsible for (a) providing technical support to the project; (b) developing and producing teaching kit for handicraft workshops in secondary schools; (c) overseeing the operation and maintenance of relevant studio facilities; (d) managing equipment and materials for workshops and other educational activities; and (e) co-ordinating part-time tutors to conduct workshops.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognised university or technical institute plus 3 years’ post-qualification work experience; OR a Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in a relevant subject from a recognised university or technical institute plus 6 years’ post-qualification work experience; (ii) professional knowledge and skills in woodwork and ceramics; (iii) a pleasant personality, team spirit, attentiveness to details and the willingness to learn; and (iv) the ability to work independently and under pressure. Possession of a higher degree and/or a valid technical certificate (e.g. Registration of Electrical Worker) will be advantageous.
