Since 2007 I have been working in the academia and engaged in teaching and research activities. I thought courses related to human rights, citizenship and development for undergraduate students in Ethiopia. My research interest centers on development, peace and conflict, livelihoods and entrepreneurship. For my Master’s Degrees I conducted studies on development-induced relocation and human rights and on conflict transformation in Ethiopia and was able to publish articles on international conference proceedings and Ethiopian Human Rights Law Series.

In 2013 I got Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Award to study in Europe. I have a keen interest on entrepreneurship and was able to win Nigerian based Tony Elumelu Entreprneurship Award in 2017 for the project on waste management. And, I have worked with organizations (local and non-local) on bussiness facilitation and farm and technology integration for Ethiopian agri-entreprenuers. I am a member of Erasumus Mundus Association and Tony Elumelu Enterepreneurs Network.

Recently, I developed research interest on Enterenuership in the context of transnational informality and seek to conduct study for my PhD at CuhK on Low-end globalization between China and Africa focusing on informal trade between China and Ethiopia.
