Our department offers both taught (M.A.) and research (MPhil. & PhD) programmes for students who would like to pursue further studies in the discipline.
The M.A. programme is a taught degree designed for people who would like to receive a formal education in anthropology. An undergraduate degree in anthropology is not required. Students from various backgrounds will obtain knowledge of anthropological theories and develop basic research skills in the M.A. programme.
The MPhil and PhD programmes are research degrees which recruit candidates that have majored in Anthropology or related fields. Students work closely with a supervisor in reading the literature, conducting research and developing his or her thesis. This allows each student’s study to be tailored to his or her needs. Students are expected to be highly self-motivated in the research programmes.
