Human beings are irrational, at least so-called rationality is finite in terms of time and space. To me, anthropology’s job is to present in what terms the seemingly absolute “reason” is absurd. Thus I would like to dig into the most “rational” human conducts: the economic activities. To be specific, my current program is to exam how the concept of “补” consist the base of current birds’ nest trading. In the future, I hope to look into more food that has a similar “ethos”. My wildest dream, if I may, is to look all over the world, and make a comparative study.
